Haunted Ladies Literary Club

An aspiring romance writer seeking inspiration becomes the suspect in a murder and is haunted by the ghosts of Jane Austen, Mary Shelley, Charlotte and Emily Brontë in a ghostly literary circle, to help her solve the crime and improve her prose.

A Parnormal Murder Mystery

Teri Lynn Hall graduated college with a psychology degree but has no desire to set up a practice. She wants to be a writer, trying her hand at potboiler romance novels but is struggling to make her writing sing. The passing of her professor father has left her a little money to get on and she decides to move to England and takes up residence in an infamous old house in Great Brinsley Green on Thames where Regency era publisher John Murray, condemned to literary hell for burning Lord Byron’s diaries, is said to have died, to get the creative juices flowing. The bizarre murder of a neighbor with Jack the Ripper clues and a Syrian immigrant suspect brings the police and her own curiosity into solving the racially charged crime when she begins as a witness but becomes a suspect herself. As solving the murder turns on literary clues, soon she is visited by the ghosts of Jane Austen, Mary Shelley, Charlotte and Emily Bronte, intent on helping her but can’t stop bickering with each other over the meaning of life, love, death, and the correct pronoun usage. Suggesting clues to the murder, they help her navigate her new life in small village Britain, a romance with the young detective investigating the case, and solve the secret grief driving her.
